This was also a project for the Computer Graphic Design class that just ended. Someone asked me to post an annotated version on Flickr: this is it. I pasted notes all over the Flickr image. It's very much the work of a beginner - but it was AMAZINGLY educational to try to do something like this. Fun, too.
The project required that we use 3-4 pictures, at least one of which was our own photography, to create a scene in which color was an important element.
I was in an odd mood that day, and the notion of color somehow made me think of all the nearly monochrome photos of Mars. One thing led to another, and pretty soon, I was spending hours creating this image of the first multi-planetary corporation.
I'm really glad that NASA takes the view that citizens are the ones who pay for space exploration, so we should be able to have the photos freely.
